Paula D. Shadid, O.D.
Dr. Paula Shadid is a lifelong California resident. She grew up in southern California until she attended the University of California, Davis. While at Davis, she studied Biological Sciences, was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and graduated with Highest Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then attended the University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree. While at Berkeley, she received the Departmental Citation for Outstanding Undergraduate Accomplishment award, the Frederick W. Brock award for exceptional paper in the field of vision training and graduated with Highest Honors.
Before coming to Rohnert Park Optometric Center, Dr. Shadid enjoyed many years in optometry and ophthalmology private practice and hospital eye clinics. But she especially enjoyed being part of the Alameda and Contra Costa counties MCT (Modified Clinical Technique) school vision screening program, having the opportunity to work with volunteer parents and school children. The service provided an advanced screening, almost like a mini-exam, and allowed to better identify children in need of additional eye care.
Dr. Shadid purchased Rohnert Park Optometric Center in 1999 and moved to Sonoma County from the East Bay in 2001.
She is very happy to be in beautiful Sonoma County and caring for and getting to know the wonderful people here. Her focus at Rohnert Park Optometric Center is family eye care with an additional interest in computer vision care and nutrition.
When not with all of you, she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading about health and nutrition, enjoying the outdoors, animals, and swing dancing.

Kelly Villarreal
My career started at Sola Optical right out of high school. I worked in production, inventory, and as a scheduler for 10 years. Next came my family. I am married to my childhood family friend; it’s a long story but a good one! We had two children, a 21 year old daughter and a 23 year old son. This led me to Early Childhood Development and a job as a preschool teacher for the next 20 years. I wanted a change after my children spread their wings, and I was brought back to the optical industry. On my free time I enjoy kayaking, hiking, gardening and reading, solo, or with family and friends.

Teresa has worked at Rohnert Park Optometric Center since 2015. She enjoys seeing patients through a fun optical experience, opening their eyes to the newest products, and laughing to herself about dorky eye puns. When she isn’t at the office or studying, Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, fish, and iguana.
